“Get Up” blames Saquon Barkley, not the play, for the Eagles’ loss to the Falcons

Saqon Barkley dropped a crucial pass in the Philadelphia Eagles’ Week 2 loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Monday night. The pass stopped the clock and gave the Falcons more than enough time to rush down the field, score a touchdown and win the game on an extra-long extra point.

While the play was the first thing people questioned, Barkley’s inability to catch the ball is just as big a story. Barkley took responsibility for the loss and this morning on Stand upDan Graziano and Mike Greenberg agreed with him.

“It worked,” Dan Graziano said. “I thought it was a good play. The running back has to catch the ball. You go into free agency, sign this guy to a monster contract and outbid other teams for him. I’ve been hearing for six months that this guy is going to be the difference between a team going to the Super Bowl or not. He just cost them the game. Big game! That head-to-head loss could be big for them, right? When you’re talking about playoff seeding. He has to come up big in that situation and he didn’t.

As brutal as that takedown was, Mike Greenberg somehow went even further by saying that he caught the ball that Barkley dropped.

To quote Jeff Saturday, “Now we are out of control.”

Barkley better change things soon, because the booing from the Philadelphia fans will only increase the tension.
