Georgia Governor Brian Kemp’s office announced Tuesday that the state’s net tax revenue increased to $2.56 billion in July.
According to the state, net sales increased 2.7% in the first month of fiscal year 2025, up $66.3 million from the previous July.

State officials highlighted the following changes in tax collection.
Increases

Sales and excise taxes totaled $1.6 billion in July, an increase of 4.5%

Corporate taxes amounted to $123.9 million, an increase of 28.4%

Fuel taxes rose 4.5% to $183.1 million in July

Fees for vehicle registration plates and vehicle registration documents increased by 12.7%

Income tax refunds increased by $3.8 million, or 3.6%

Estimated income tax payments increased by 23.3% or $3.9 million

All other income taxes increased by $7.4 million

Payroll tax withholding payments decreased by 1%, or $12.7 million.

Corporate tax refunds fell 110.1 percent, or $23.2 million, from the previous year

Estimated corporate profit payments increased by 17%, or $10.5 million

All other corporate taxes decreased by $6.3 million

Ad valorem taxes on cars decreased 8.7%, a decrease of $6.4 million
