Brent Key has Georgia Tech sweating it out when it comes to recruiting players, and that was proven today by the Yellow Jackets’ signing of five-star offensive lineman Josh Petty. Georgia Tech had been trending on Petty’s signing for the past few weeks, but today it became official. It’s the biggest win in the modern recruiting era for Georgia Tech and gives them a lot of momentum going forward.

This is a huge win for Georgia Tech. Key has improved this program’s recruiting since taking over as head coach, but this win of this nature is a whole different story. The Yellow Jackets have not been able to sign players of this caliber and this could be a sign that things are changing on The Flats. This program has a lot of momentum right now after a successful first season under Brent Key and the trend continues upward.

According to 247Sports, Petty is the 14th-ranked prospect in the country, the 2nd-ranked offensive tackle in the country, and the 4th-ranked prospect in the state of Georgia. Petty plays at Fellowship Christian School in Roswell, GA. He is one of the top prospects in the country and will be getting a player that is ready to step right in and compete for playing time for the Yellow Jackets next year.
