Apparently, Georgia Tech kept the pregame receipts, right down to analyzing why people thought the Yellow Jackets would lose. This included Desmond Howard saying that FSU was too strong in the trenches before the video cut to a downfield run by Jamal Haynes.

Then it was Nick Saban’s turn. The legendary coach now works as an analyst. He saw FSU as the winner and again pointed to the Seminoles’ size and depth. So the Yellow Jackets made sure to get this under control against another strong run from Haynes.

Kirk Herbstreit had talked about how excited he was to watch FSU run, so the video shows an excellent defensive play stopping a run. That became a trend as the game went on, and Georgia Tech held FSU to just 98 rushing yards that day.

In many ways, Jamal Haynes was the star of the video. Several of his highlights are used in it, including the play where he outsmarted two FSU defenders and caused them to collide. He finished the day with 75 rushing yards, two rushing touchdowns and 16 receiving yards.

The video also caused the audience to slow down Pat McAfee He said, “I really like Florida State,” before making the game-winning kick.

At least guest picker Sheamus picked Georgia Tech to win the game. He was the only judge to pick the Yellow Jackets. This also meant that he had the last word in the video before Georgia Tech’s celebration in Dublin was shown.

Georgia Tech coach Brent Key calls Nick Saban a “great mentor” of his career

Head coach of Georgia Tech Brent Key was part of Nick Saban’s staff in Alabama from 2016 to 2018. Today he considers him a great mentor.

“It’s really cool for him to be here and experience this next chapter of his life. I think everyone is excited about it and the value he can bring to the network and game day. On a personal level, he’s been a great mentor to me,” Key said.

“He had a tremendous impact on my coaching career and a lot of the things I do now as a head coach on a daily basis and a lot of things in our program. He has a very, very strong impact on the entire Georgia Tech football program. To see him, talk to him, catch up on other things and talk a little bit about football as well is the biggest thing.”
