The interview, in which Pitt also speaks, also touched on Tarantino. The interviewer noted that some directors tend to oscillate between him and Brad Pitt. “I made a film with Quentin. He played my brother,” Clooney began, referring to the 1996 film. From dusk to dawnWhen Pitt pointed out that Tarantino was “pretty good at it,” Clooney replied: “He was OK in there.”

He also recalled his recent remark that “irritated him a little” – that he was not a big movie star.Quentin said some stupid things about me recently, so I’m a little irritated by him. He was giving an interview where he was listing movie stars and he was talking about you and someone else and then this guy says: “And what about George?” he asks. He’s not a movie star. And then he literally said something like: “Name me one movie since the turn of the millennium.” And I said, “Since the turn of the millennium? That’s basically my whole damn career.”

I don’t mind messing him up. He messed me up.

Clooney continued: “So now I’m like, okay, dude, fuck off. I don’t mind telling him that shit. He told me that shit. But no, you see, we were really lucky to work with these great directors. Directing and writing are what keeps you alive. And I learned that after making some really bad films. You can’t make a good film out of a bad script. You can’t. You can make a bad film out of a good script. You can screw it up.”
