George Clooney and Brad Pitt rent an entire restaurant in Venice and play waiters while enjoying a double date with Amal and Ines de Ramon before the premiere of “Wolfs”

George Clooney and Brad Pitt proved they are comedic acters through and through on Sunday night when they took a job as waiters after renting a restaurant.

The Hollywood heartthrobs visited Ristorante Da Ivo in Venice on Saturday with Amal, 46, and Brad’s girlfriend Ines de Ramon, 34, one day before the premiere of their Apple TV+ film “Wolfs.”

George, 63, took his hosting duties seriously, taking orders from Apple TV executives who were also on their way there for a bite to eat.

“George took over the restaurant for about half an hour. He went to all of our tables and pretended to take orders,” a member of the Apple TV party told People.

“The menu that had been created had a whole complicated and long explanation for each dish… but George just interpreted it in his own way and it was absolutely hilarious. He made us all laugh and we laughed until we cried.

The restaurant is a popular meeting place for George when he visits Venice and he visited it with Amal in August last year.

George and Brad, 60, even posed for a photo with the restaurant staff after enjoying a three-course meal.

The group ate fiori di zucca in pastella (zucchini flowers in dough stuffed with mozzarella), porcini mushrooms and truffle risotto, tagliata di manzo (beef slices) and paccheri pasta, as well as red and white wine.

The celebrity duo had the Venice Film Festival firmly in their grip on Sunday when they presented their new gangster film “Wolfs”.

In the film, they play crime-solving specialists who are unexpectedly hired for the same job – disposing of a body in a hotel room.

George teased Brad, who is three years younger: “He is 74 years old, so he is very lucky to still be able to work at this age.”

And he joked about their reunion: “The restraining order expired. No, it was just cash, money will fix it.”

The duo reportedly received $35 million each for their roles in the rogue film and insisted on a theatrical release.

But the manufacturer Apple changed its mind and so the film, which according to insiders cost a total of up to 200 million dollars, will now be released in US cinemas for only one week.

In all other territories, the film will be available directly via streaming, making it by far the most expensive television film of all time.

The restaurant is a regular haunt for George when he visits Venice and he visited it with Amal in August last year.

Apple’s change of heart follows a series of expensive films from the streamer – including “Napoleon,” “Killers of the Flower Moon” and “Argylle” – all of which flopped in theaters.

George denied that her fees were $35 million, saying the true amount was “many, many millions less.”

However, he added that the way things went was “garbage”.

He said: “We would have liked that, we wanted that, and Brad and I donated part of our salaries to that end. We had some bumps along the way, but these things happen.”

“It’s a shame, of course it’s a shame, but a lot of people will see the film and we’re bringing it to a few hundred cinemas. It would have been nice if we had shown it on a larger scale.”

He said the economics of streaming have not yet been fully explored, but added: “We are exploring them. We need Apple and Amazon and they need Sony or Warners, who have been doing this for 100 years.”
