Gary Oldman’s highly underrated Apple TV show gets a new trailer for season 4 that adds more action
Apple TV Plus’s criminally underrated crime series Slow Horses has unveiled its first trailer for season four, and it looks like our favorite gang of outcast agents are back for more action and mayhem on the streets of London.
In the trailer, Gary Oldman is back as the eccentric leader of the agents – or as he calls them, “The Rejects” – Jackson Lamb, who is asked (as always) by MI5 Deputy Director Diana Taverner (Kristin Scott Thomas) to help with a case, this time involving a possible terrorist attack on a shopping mall. The rest of the team are dealing with personal problems, family issues and street unrest. Meanwhile, season newcomer Frank Harkness (Hugo Weaving) is hot on the Rejects’ trail. Slow Horses follows a team of lost British secret agents who are sent to a remote MI5 branch called Slough House, led by the irascible leader Jackson Lamb. The series is based on the eight-book Slough House series by Mick Herron, with the fourth season of Slow Horses based on Herron’s fourth book, Spook Street.
Season 4, directed by Adam Randall, continues the team’s crime-fighting story in a city full of illusions. According to the season’s official synopsis, “the series begins with a bomb attack that exposes personal secrets and shakes the already unstable foundations of Slough House.”
So far, Slow Horses has been a huge hit with audiences, garnering an impressive 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Since its premiere in 2022, the film has won two BAFTA Television Awards.
In addition to Oldman and Scott Thomas, returning cast members include Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Rosalind Eleazar, Christopher Chung, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Kadiff Kirwan and Jonathan Pryce. Season four also features some new faces, including Joanna Scanlan, Ruth Bradley, Tom Brooke and James Callis.
The fourth season of “Slow Horses” premieres with the first episode on Apple TV Plus on September 4, followed by a new episode every Wednesday through October 9. Seasons 1 to 3 can be watched now on the streamer.
