Full women’s basketball schedule for 2024-25 released

EASTON, Mass. (August 14, 2024) – The schedule for the Stonehill College women’s basketball program’s third NCAA Division I season has been fully announced after the Northeast Conference released its 2024-25 schedule today. It complements the Skyhawks’ 13-game non-conference schedule that highlights three NCAA Tournament programs from March.

Stonehill, under the leadership of head coach Trisha Brown for you 24th year, five of their 13 non-conference games this winter will be played on Paula Sullivan Court in Merkert Gymnasium as the Skyhawks prepare for their third season in Division I as members of the NEC. Stonehill hosts America East Conference finalists the University of Maine (Nov. 26, 7 p.m.), the defending AE champions and 2024 NCAA Tournament participants, and UAlbany (Dec. 1, 1 p.m.) in back-to-back home games, along with a third America East member, the University of New Hampshire (Dec. 30, 4 p.m.), which visits Merkert Gymnasium to complete the non-conference schedule before the NEC schedule begins after the New Year. Stonehill also hosts Ivy League member Dartmouth College (Dec. 10, 7 p.m.), with the Skyhawks’ first home game scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 7, against Emmanuel College at 7 p.m.

Stonehill’s 2024-25 season begins Monday, Nov. 4 (5:30 p.m.) at the University of Rhode Island, the Atlantic 10 Conference runner-up. The Skyhawks’ non-conference schedule will be headlined by visits to Mountain West Conference champions UNLV (Nov. 15) and fellow NCAA Tournament contender Marquette University (Dec. 21) of the Big East. Nearby, Stonehill will visit Bryant University (Nov. 22), Brown University (Dec. 5) and Northeastern University (Dec. 18). Also scheduled are away visits to Utah Tech (Nov. 13) and Rider University (Dec. 14).

Stonehill will open its third NEC season with three consecutive home games. Combined with the non-conference finale against New Hampshire on Dec. 30, that gives the Skyhawks a four-game home series around the New Year, beginning with NEC newcomer Mercyhurst University on Thursday, Jan. 2. Saint Francis University (Jan. 4) and the NEC’s other newcomer, Chicago State University (Jan. 9), round out the three-game series at Merkert Gym to kick off the NEC schedule.

FDU will end Stonehill’s home schedule in January before the Skyhawks host LIU (Feb. 8), Wagner College (Feb. 20) and Central Connecticut State University (Feb. 22) in February and then Le Moyne College for its final regular-season home game on Senior Day on Saturday, March 1. Stonehill’s NEC regular season will end at Wagner on Thursday, March 6 before the NEC Tournament begins with quarterfinals on March 10, semifinals on March 13 and the NEC Championship on March 16, all of which will be played at the home of the higher-seeded teams.

All Stonehill home games will be broadcast live on NEC Front Row – the NEC’s digital broadcast platform. Tickets for the 2024-25 season, including season ticket packages, will be available to purchase online from early September.

Stonehill earned a berth in the NEC Tournament in its first year of participation last winter, continuing the program’s streak of postseason appearances in every year it was eligible for it during its entire 40-year membership in the Northeast-10 Conference. The recently graduated Jada Thornton was named All-NEC, making the Skyhawks Division I All-Conference team for the second consecutive year.
