JONESBORO, Arkansas (KAIT) – As Tropical Storm Francine moves into Region 8, we should prepare for heavy rain and strong winds, according to K8 StormTEAM.
“Rain will occur in Region 8 from the morning into the afternoon, with the heaviest rainfall occurring in the evening,” said Chief Meteorologist Ryan Vaughan.
“Winds will increase Thursday morning, being strongest in the afternoon and evening with winds between 20 and 24 mph and gusts up to 45 mph before easing overnight,” said meteorologist Kristina Balentine.
Expect rainfall amounts of up to three inches or more in some spots.
Showers will continue through Friday, but meteorologist Kristina Balentine said neither wind nor rain will pose a major threat.
Balentine said, “There could be another inch of rain before the rain moves out Friday night.”
