“Fox & Friends” takes place in Hobe Sound, Florida. How to pronounce it

A familiar face is currently in Florida this morning.

“Fox & Friends” co-host Steve Doocy will be at Harry and the Natives in Hobe Sound until 9 a.m. speaking to guests as part of the morning show’s “Breakfast with Friends” series.

According to a press release Wednesday, Doocy will be on hand to speak to guests about the breaking news and critical issues shaping this year’s election.

Where is Hobe Sound, Florida?

Hobe Sound is an unincorporated area and census-designated place in Martin County on Florida’s Treasure Coast.

How to pronounce Florida’s Hobe Sound

Hobe Sound is pronounced like “howb,” not “ho-bee.”

The area got its name from the Jove or Jobe Indians, one of the Native American groups that lived in the area before European settlement. Local experts said that the word “Jobe” was pronounced as if it were spelled “Hobe” due to early Spanish influence on the region.

What is Fox & Friends?

“FOX & Friends” is Fox News Channel’s morning series with co-hosts Doocy, Ainsley Earhardt, Brian Kilmeade and Lawrence Jones.

The show airs weekday mornings from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and focuses on news, weather, sports and entertainment.

Why is Doocy with Harry & the Natives in Hobe Sound?

Fox’s Doocy saw the restaurant closing announcement on Facebook.

“Fox & Friends visited Harry and the Natives for the first time in 2022, and last week we saw that Harry’s would be closing its doors on October 12th after decades of business,” said Megan Albano, Executive Vice President of Morning Programming and Program ” We decided to pay a visit before it’s too late.”

Harry and the Natives owner Harry MacArthur announced the restaurant would close Oct. 12, but told TCPalm on Wednesday that the corner restaurant would remain.
