Four Colorado schools win National Blue Ribbon Award for academic achievement

Four Colorado schools have received National Blue Ribbon School Awards for their academic achievement and closing gaps in student achievement.

The U.S. Department of Education program recognizes public and private elementary, middle and high schools based on their academic excellence or reduction of inequalities between student groups.

DSST Cedar High School in Denver, Zach Elementary School in Fort Collins, Skyview Middle School in Pueblo and Mesa View Elementary School in Grand Junction were honored Monday as part of the 2024 award winners, according to a press release from Governor Jared Polis’ office.

“I am thrilled that four Colorado schools have been recognized with this prestigious achievement award, and I look forward to celebrating this success, sharing the magic of what works, and helping even more Colorado schools achieve excellence,” Polis said in a statement.
