Former Patriots star threatens to slap Mac Jones

After a promising rookie season, Mac Jones never really got going in New England and left the Patriots to take a move in 2024.

New England traded Jones to the Jacksonville Jaguars for a sixth-round draft pick and brought in Jacoby Brissett, Drake Maye and Joe Milton III to rebuild the quarterback team.

The group’s revitalized energy is an interesting reflection on Jones’ tenure with the Patriots. The new group offers a breath of fresh air for Rob Ninkovich, who recently ranted about Jones’ attitude with the Patriots.

“He doesn’t like us either,” Ninkovich said on the “Dan and Ninko” podcast. “I don’t give a shit. I’m going to punch Mac Jones. I don’t care. Do you care if somebody doesn’t like you? Exactly. (Expletive) them.”

Ninkovich then poked fun at Jones’ tone at his press conferences during his tenure with the Patriots and ended the talk with a farewell message to the former first-round pick from Alabama.

“I hope he has a great career as a reserve player,” added Ninkovich. “He makes a lot of money.”

Jones will meet the Patriots internationally when the teams meet in London on October 20.
