Former Patriots receiver Danny Amendola and Olympic star Stephen Nedoroscik join the cast of “Dancing with the Stars”

Former Patriots receiver Danny Amendola is among the Boston-area celebrities joining the “pommel horse guy” – two-time Olympic bronze medalist Stephen Nedoroscik – in the fall season of “Dancing with the Stars,” ABC announced Wednesday.

Amendola, who is retiring from the NFL in 2022, and Nedoroscik, a Worcester native who was announced last month as a contestant on the reality competition program, will pit their skills on the dance floor against former “Bachelorette” star Jenn Tran, who has lived in Boston, and actors Eric Roberts, Tori Spelling, Reginald VelJohnson and Chandler Kinney, it was announced Wednesday on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

Ilona Maher, a member of the U.S. women’s rugby team that won a bronze medal at the Paris Olympics; reality TV stars Joey Graziadei and Phaedra Parks; former NBA player Dwight Howard; fake heiress Anna “Delvey” Sorokin; and model Brooks Nader round out this season’s celebrity cast.

The 33rd season of “Dancing with the Stars” will be hosted by Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro, and Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough will serve as judges again, according to the website. The season will premiere on September 17 at 8 p.m. on ABC and Disney+, and will be available on Hulu the next day, the website says.
