Good morning and happy game day, Tigers!

This morning, the cloud cover across the region means that things will be slow to warm up. Temperatures will be above 18 degrees to get your party started, rising to over 24 degrees for the kick-off!

Matchday prediction.png

Temperatures will remain seasonable, reaching highs of 83 degrees this afternoon. The region will be covered in plenty of clouds this morning as the remnants of Hurricane Francine linger to the south. Cloud cover will slowly but surely clear this afternoon, allowing some sunshine to filter through Faurot Field. A few morning drizzles can’t be ruled out, but Mid-Missouri should remain mostly dry for your Saturday plans.

Hourly details Short forecast for today.png

Temperatures will drop to around 18 degrees overnight, with some cloud cover remaining in the area. Overall, conditions are perfect for outdoor dining after the Mizzou game and any celebrations afterward.

AM Today.png

Rain chances return for the second half of our Sunday. Sunday morning will start dry with a mix of sun and clouds. In the afternoon, when the daytime temperature is at its highest, sudden showers and thunderstorms will move in from the east. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to begin here in Mid-Missouri after 3 p.m. and continue into the evening until the instability peaks around 9 p.m. Rain from these scattered showers will be light and there will be enough dry time for the KC Chiefs to face the Bengals. Temperatures for tomorrow will remain just above 80 degrees for the season.

The rain isn’t quite over yet…we still have a chance for a few showers this week. Rain will still be possible on Monday, but the rain will struggle to reach us. The driving mechanism behind Monday’s rain chance (post-tropical depression Francine) will continue to weaken over the next 48 hours. Monday’s rain chance will depend on how quickly the system weakens. Current trends show the driving mechanism behind the system continuing to weaken, limiting our rain chance to a few drizzles on Monday. We’ll continue to monitor the system and our rain chance here at KOMU 8. High pressure will then settle into the region on Tuesday, and we expect warmer and sunnier conditions for the rest of the week.
