The Foo Fighters have canceled a music festival days before the planned event due to controversy surrounding frontman Dave Grohl, who recently admitted to having fathered a child outside of his 21-year marriage.

The rock band said in a brief statement Thursday that it will “no longer perform at the Soundside Music Festival in Bridgeport, Connecticut” this weekend as planned.

“For more information, visit the festival website,” the band said. No reason was given for the cancellation.

A representative for Foo Fighters declined to comment.

The band was scheduled to headline the Soundside Music Festival on Sunday. The festival announced on X that Jack White and Greta Van Fleet will now headline that day. “Unfortunately, Foo Fighters have announced that they will no longer be performing this weekend,” the festival said.

Noah Kahan, Boyz II Men, Bleachers, Norah Jones and Teddy Swims are among the artists who will also perform at the Soundside Music Festival, which begins Saturday.

The last-minute cancellation comes more than two weeks after Grohl, 55, announced in a statement on September 10 that he “recently became the father of a new daughter, born outside of my marriage.”

The rocker has been married to Jordyn Blum since 2003 and they have three daughters between the ages of 10 and 18. In his statement, he said he planned to be a “loving and supportive parent” to the child.

“I love my wife and my children and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness,” he said. “We are grateful for your consideration for all children involved as we move forward together.”

Foo Fighters, who completed their Everything or Nothing at All tour last month, currently have no upcoming live dates listed on their website.
