ATLANTA, Georgia (Atlanta News First) – Significant impacts from Hurricane Helene are expected in northern Georgia on Thursday and Friday.

FIRST WEATHER WARNING DAY Wednesday to Friday

A tropical wave in the Caribbean is forecast to develop into Tropical Storm Helene today. Helene will eventually move north into the Gulf of Mexico and become a major hurricane before making landfall in Florida on Thursday. The system will then move north through Georgia and is expected to have significant impacts in northern Georgia on Thursday and Friday.
