On Sunday afternoon, a bush fire broke out on the grounds of the Pitchess Detention Center.
UPDATE 16:50: The Heather Fire has been extinguished. There may still be some smoke in the area.
The bush fire, named Heather Fire, was first reported by the Los Angeles County Fire Department at around 4:11 p.m. on Sunday on the grounds of the Pitchess Detention Center in Castaic.
The smoke rising from the site could be seen from several kilometers away.
As of 4:28 p.m. Sunday, the fire has reached at least one acre in size.
