Filming of “Happy Gilmore 2” at Fiddler’s Elbow golf course in New Jersey

In the 1996 film “Happy Gilmore,” Happy saves his grandmother’s house from foreclosure by winning the Tour Championship filmed on a Canadian golf course.

But in the highly anticipated sequel, Happy, played by Adam Sandler, will appear at Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club in Bedminster. According to a memo from the club’s trustees obtained by GOLF.com, most of the movie’s scenes will be filmed at Fiddler’s Elbow, the state’s only 54-hole club.

GOLF.com reported that filming will begin in early October and last about two months, with the film’s three 18-hole golf courses serving as the set.

This news may not be so good news for golfers who are not fans of a hockey player turned golfer. According to the memo, according to GOLF.com, three holes will likely be closed for the season — and another hole will remain closed for two weeks. The golf season at the Forest Course will be extended to accommodate members.

But, the memo continued, leave your camera phones away, as no autographs or photos are allowed. Netflix has ordered that nothing be posted on social media before the film’s premiere in 2025.

In addition to Sandler, members of Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club may also spot Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, who Sandler said will appear in the film, as well as professional golfers – and possibly stars from the original film, such as Christopher McDonald, who played Shooter McGavin.

GOLF.com noted that the release of Happy Gilmore 2 coincides with the 60th anniversary of Fiddler’s Elbow. The club’s release said there will be a party to mark the anniversary, including the premiere of the film.

“(The film) is about an older man who has been playing golf for a long time,” Sandler said on Travis and Jason Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast. “Some things are happening in his life – he’s a little different. He’s a little bit messed up when you meet Happy. And then we’re trying to get his life back on track.”
