Feedstock Management Group debuts at Tech Hub LIVE

The North American Bioeconomy Data Alliance (NABDA) is a new working group focused on resource management that recently debuted at the Tech Hub LIVE event in Des Moines.

Leading the group are Joyce Hunter of Mission Critical and Kathleen Glass of AquaSpy, who also led a panel discussion on the topic at THL. NABDA engages industry partners to help the U.S. and Canada improve data literacy and standardization to optimize the production, processing and use of biological feedstocks.

“We’re looking at all the commodities available and how we compensate farmers for what they grow,” Hunter said. “We’re looking for input from farmers, producers, technology companies… we want to include all voices.”

The working group plans to collect contributions throughout the rest of the year and present the results at the VISION conference in January.

Hunter, who served at the U.S. Department of Agriculture under the Obama administration, also spoke to the Women in Ag Tech group, which met for the third time at Tech Hub LIVE, about the importance of involvement in public policy and government relations.
