Fallen tree falls on house as storm sweeps through Philadelphia

Heavy rain and wind moved quickly through the Philadelphia area on Sunday evening.

“I saw the rain blowing this way, I saw things on my patio starting to blow, I thought my gas grill was going to blow off the patio, and all of a sudden I heard a hiss and saw this tree fall over,” says Joann McCloud of Northeast Philadelphia.

A large tree is now leaning against a home in Northeast Philadelphia, but fortunately its homeowner was able to escape in time.

Part of the neighborhood is currently without power, but McCloud says it was a brief moment they will never forget.

“As quickly as it came, it was gone,” says McCloud.

This brief bout of rain and wind was even witnessed at Lincoln Financial Field, which was taken over by Eagles fans who happened to love the color and pop artist pink.

“I made my own T-shirt because it says ‘concert in August 2024.’ I made some bracelets, my hat also says pink, and it has a lot of colors,” says fan Angelina Chirseo.

Chirseo had dressed up especially to see the Doylestown-born artist in concert for the first time.

“I’m very excited, it’s one of my first real concerts,” says Chirseo.

The fact that many other young fans and even adults joined in the pancake excitement also caused excitement, but despite the initial dampener of fun, they remained in good spirits.

“I’m here to have some fun. Let’s let loose. We’re in it to win,” says fan Sonya Brown.

Luckily for Pink fans, the sun came out just in time for the concert.
