ST. LOUIS, Missouri (First Alert 4) – Preparations are underway in Forest Park as organizers gear up for the second year of the Evolution Festival, featuring notable bands like Beck, Nile Rodgers, The Killers and more.

The Evolution Festival takes place on Saturdays and Sundays in Forest Park at Langenberg Field.

Given the predicted chance of rain, festival producers are prepared for all scenarios.

“The weather plan is for it to be St. Louis. We never know what we’re actually going to get until we get it, but we have an on-site meteorologist with us,” said festival co-producer Joe Litvag. “We can cope with rain without any problems. The bands play in the rain, all of our stages are protected. The challenge for us comes when we deal with lightning, high winds or torrential rain for an extended period of time and then make our weather plans.”

In the festival’s second year, organizers have taken fan feedback to heart. That means more bathrooms, another entrance, a third stage and a craft beer garden. In addition to big, well-known artists, the festival also features local beers, local food and local bands.

“It’s going to be great, I love this festival. I was here last year and had a lot of fun, so it means a lot to me to be here,” said Adam Reichmann, who plays in the local band Nadine.

Festival organizers say safety is a top priority to ensure the safety of everyone in attendance. In addition to working with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police, they will have adequate private security throughout the festival grounds.

Be sure to do your research before you go and check what is and isn’t allowed inside. No metal water bottles, no umbrellas or chairs.
