Due to rain, activities were moved indoors this year as the Eden Prairie High School football team and cheerleaders made their annual visit to The Waters of Eden Prairie senior living facility. Although the rain marred the touch football tradition of years past, the team’s visit did provide some friendly competition.

Football players challenged The Waters residents to bowling using the Nintendo Wii video game console and cornhole games. Shuffleboard, push-ups and a hot dog eating contest also took place within the walls of The Waters on Friday, August 16. Waters employees won the 2024 hot dog eating contest, continuing their winning streak against Eagles football players.

This year was the 15th visit of Coach Mike Grant’s Eagles football team to The Waters. Outside of games, the players and cheerleaders talk to the residents about various topics.

Although the football players were unable to play against The Waters this year due to rain, the team is currently training for the 2024 season and will play a controlled preseason practice game on Saturday, August 24th from 9 a.m. to noon. Admission to Eden Prairie High School’s Aerie Stadium is free. The Eagles’ first regular season game of the year will be on the road in Buffalo on Thursday, August 29th.
