The Emmy Awards are taking place for the second time this year. After the 2023 ceremony was postponed to January 2024 due to last year’s Hollywood strikes, only eight months have passed since TV’s biggest stars gathered at the LA Live Peacock Theater in Los Angeles to announce the Emmy winners.
Eugene and Dan Levy, the Emmy-winning father-son duo of “Schitt’s Creek,” will host the 76th Emmy Awards Sunday night at 5 p.m. PT on ABC. The show will also be available to stream the next day on Hulu.
Following last weekend’s Creative Arts Emmys, FX’s “Shogun” has already won 14 awards, the most by any show in a single season. The series is the big winner in the drama categories this year. It’s looking like a big year for FX, as “The Bear” is also the frontrunner in the comedy races. Season 2 of the Jeremy Allen White-directed series is trying to break its own record from last year for most awards by a comedy. It has already won seven Creative Arts Emmys and only needs four more to set the new record. In the miniseries categories, Netflix has two frontrunners, “Baby Reindeer” and “Ripley,” poised to take home the most trophies.
