Elon Musk makes fun of the Hamptons’ poor internet service

Elon Musk was reportedly a surprise guest at Michael Milken’s annual Hamptons Prostate Cancer Foundation gala over the weekend. During the event, the Tesla and SpaceX CEO reportedly poked fun at the subpar cell reception in the Hamptons.

Citing one of his “spies” Page Six claimed that Musk criticized cellular coverage in the Hamptons during a one-on-one meeting with Milken. During the conversation, Musk was asked about the success of Starlink, and the CEO mentioned how poor the reception was at the venue.

“One of the highlights of Milken’s extensive one-on-one conversation with Elon was when (Musk) was asked about the success of Starlink and he talked about how bad cell reception was in the Hamptons,” said one of the Page Sixclaimed the spies of .

“I had to answer important text messages on the way here and couldn’t… people were asking where I was, in Timbuktu?” Musk is said to have said, according to the entertainment publication.

Musk’s criticism of subpar cell reception in the Hamptons may be justified, considering that SpaceX’s Starlink provides reliable, high-speed internet to some of the world’s most remote areas, including Antarctica. in the South Pole, which now has high-speed internet thanks to Starlink.

The Hamptons Prostate Cancer Foundation gala featured a number of notable guests, including Elon Musk’s mother, Maye Musk. Interestingly, one of the publication’s spies also claimed that Musk received a standing ovation from gala attendees and that the CEO “wanted to die in a capsule off the coast of Mars.”

In a comment to Page SixMusk noted that the publication’s spies didn’t seem to be the best, but he reiterated his criticism of the Hamptons-based internet service.

“They’re not the sharpest spies in the stable… There’s no ‘coast’ on Mars to die on. Mike Milken just read an old quote of mine where I said I’d like to die on Mars, but not on impact.

“My mother was staying with friends. The room I stayed in at the Capri was tiny – and the Wi-Fi is in dire need of an upgrade, as is cell reception in the Hamptons in general. I haven’t been to the Hamptons in many years and was only in the area for about 24 hours at Milken’s request for his cancer foundation,” Musk said.
