Although Natasha Lyonne’s casting for Fantastic Four: First Steps was announced in May, details about the film are still being kept secret.
Elizabeth Olsen is undoubtedly a seasoned veteran of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Not only has she starred in a total of five superhero films, but she also has her own television show, WandaVision. Olsen’s future as Wanda Maximoff remains uncertain; her next big screen appearance is in the upcoming drama His Three Daughters, starring Natasha Lyonne. Lyonne has also been cast in a secret role in Marvel’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps. In a recent interview, Olsen was asked if she had any advice for Lyonne’s MCU debut, and she gave a pretty candid answer.
Speaking to GamesRadar+, Oslen explained: “No, she doesn’t need advice. She can handle herself. She’s a very tough girl. I think she knows she can handle any situation.”
Although Lyonne’s casting in Fantastic Four: First Steps was announced in May, details about the film are still being kept under wraps. In First Steps, Lyonne will be joined by Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman, Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/The Human Torch, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing, Julia Garner as the female version of the Silver Surfer, and Ralph Ineson as Galactus.
Similar to Lyonne, John Malkovich and Paul Walter Hauser have also been given unknown roles. Additionally, Cinema Blend reports that Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr., may have a brief cameo in First Steps before taking on a major role as the main antagonist in future Marvel films Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
Plot details for First Steps are not yet known, but it is known that the film is set on a different Earth than the main MCU reality and that Galactus wants to devour this planet. The film will be released on July 25, 2025.
Meanwhile, Olsen stars in His Three Daughters, an emotional and humorous new drama directed by Azezal Jacobs. The story follows three estranged sisters who come together in their father’s final days to care for him and mend their own broken relationships. His Three Daughters hits select theaters on September 6, and will be available to stream on Netflix on September 20.
