Earth showrunner promises long future for the TV series “Xenomorph”

Alien: Romulus heats up the coffers, and this is far from the end of the franchise, because Fargo Creator Noah Hawley will bring the iconic sci-fi horror franchise to television next year with Alien: Earth. Hawley also seems to have some long-term plans for the series. The first Alien television series, set to air on FX in 2025, will be a prequel set on Earth about three decades before 1979. Alien and it will apparently ignore Prometheus And Alien: Covenant.

Extraterrestrial effects

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Hawley gave a clear indication of his long-term plans for Alien: EarthWhen asked if the series will continue beyond one season, Hawley replied: “It could definitely be the next 10 years of my life”referring to the reporter’s earlier comment, how Fargo has been running for such a long time. He also revealed that the series is in post-production and is on track for its release date in 2025. He said:

“We just finished. I’m in post-production right now, editing. Of course, there’s a big visual effects component that takes time. But I couldn’t be happier with the show we made. If people wanted a TV series based on the world of Alien, I think I’ll give them something special.”

How long will Alien: Earth run?

When Hawley says Alien: Earth could be the next ten years of his life, that doesn’t mean the series itself will run for ten seasons. Due to the high budget and heavy VFX nature of the series, there may be one-year gaps between seasons, meaning a ten-year span Alien: Earth would correspond to five seasons. Fargo is the best example of this approach, as the series debuted in 2014 and Season 2 followed shortly thereafter in 2015, but Season 3 did not air until 2017. Then three years passed until the next season, and another three years before Season 5 aired in 2023.
