Eagles hope to maintain momentum in Rwanda: Osimhen and Iwobi on the bench

Victor Osimhen will start from the bench in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier between the Super Eagles and Rwanda in Kigali on Tuesday.

Coach Austin Eguavoen made just one change from the lineup that defeated Benin Republic on Saturday as the Eagles hope to continue their great start to the qualifiers at Amahoro Stadium.

Osimhen scored Nigeria’s second goal just eight minutes after coming on as a substitute in Saturday’s 3-0 win over Benin Uyo, but he was unable to gain the confidence needed to take the lead for the Eguavoen.

In his place, Victor Boniface will start alongside the two-goal scorer against Benin, Ademola Lookman and Samuel Chukwueze.

Lazio midfielder Tom Dele-Basiru, meanwhile, has replaced Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi, who had a quiet game against Benin.

The game starts at 2 p.m.

FULL ENTRY: Stanley Nwabali, Troost Ekong, Ola Aina, Semi Ajayi, Calvin Bassey, Wilfred Ndidi, Fiasyo Dele-Basiru, Bruno Onyemeachi, Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze and Victor Boniface.
