Due to the effects of the storm, the school schedule for Tuesday will change

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Several school systems have announced closures for Tuesday, September 17 due to storm damage from Monday’s storms:

This includes:

Brunswick County schools will be closed to students on Tuesday; it will be an optional work day for all employees with 10-month contracts.

New Hanover County schools will have a day of remote learning so officials can assess the buildings before students return.

Bladen County Schools will experience a two-hour delay on Tuesday. The class schedule will be updated by 7:00 a.m. Tuesday morning if any further changes are needed.

Columbus County schools will switch to distance learning. All extracurricular activities have been canceled.

Schools in Pender County are closed on Tuesday.

Whiteville City Schools will switch to distance learning.

The Classical Charter School of Leland, the Classical Charter School of Whiteville, the Classical Charter School of Southport and the Classical Charter School of Wilmington are closed on Tuesday.

Brunswick Community College will be closed on Tuesday. Classes will be held remotely where possible.

Cape Fear Community College is closed on Tuesday.

Southeastern Community College opens at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday.

Calvary Christian School is closed to students and staff on Tuesday.
