DSV cooperates with Volvo Trucks to order 300 electric trucks and aims for sustainable transport solutions in Europe

DSV, a global logistics company, and its contractors, together with Volvo Trucks, have agreed to deploy 300 zero-emission electric trucks in DSV’s European operations. This is part of the company’s plan to deploy 2,000 electric trucks in its fleet by 2030. With this order, DSV will have one of the largest corporate fleets of heavy-duty electric trucks in Europe.

The agreement also includes 500 Volvo trucks with highly efficient diesel and gas engines. All trucks are to be delivered between 2024 and 2026.

“I am very proud to deepen our partnership with DSV,” said Roger Alm, President of Volvo Trucks. “Collaboration and a strong commitment to make a real difference are essential to making sustainable transport and large CO2 reductions a reality. This order is a testament to their trust in our company and shows that zero-emission transport is a viable solution here and now.”

The new trucks being delivered to DSV include the Volvo FH Aero Electric, which features improved aerodynamics and is therefore even more energy efficient.

DSV is the largest freight transporter in the Volvo Group and already has Volvo electric trucks in its fleet. DSV uses these trucks in Sweden and Denmark and has installed charging infrastructure with electricity from solar panels at its distribution centers in both countries.
