Drone attack on military airfield near Moscow

In the early hours of August 12, several drones reportedly attacked the Chkalovsky military airport in the Moscow suburbs. The consequences of the attack are still unclear, as no official reports have been released on the matter.

According to Ukrinform, this can be seen from the Astra telegram channel.

“Last night, drones were shot down near the Chkalovsky military airfield in the suburbs of Moscow, local residents and pro-war Telegram channels report. A few hours ago, residents in Shkolkovo near Moscow heard gunfire and an air raid warning. The Z-channels reported that the attack on the Chkalovsky military airfield was repelled. There are no official reports,” the message said.

Later, the aggressor state’s Defense Ministry reported that Russian air defense forces allegedly intercepted 18 Ukrainian drones over the Kursk, Belgorod and Voronezh regions overnight. Rostov Region Governor Vasily Golubev said four drones were shot down in the southwest of the region.

At the same time, the Ministry of Defense does not mention either the drones about which the governor of the Rostov region wrote, or the attack on the Chkalovsky military airfield in a suburb of Moscow.

As reported, late last week Ukrainian forces launched another strike against key enemy facilities on Russian soil, including Lipetsk airfield, where a massive fire broke out.
