Our Malik Patterson is here and will bring a detailed report at 11:00 a.m. on News Center 7.

The truck was traveling west on Old Salem Road in Clayton and approaching the intersection with North Union Road when it collided with a white SUV, the sergeant said. The collision caused the truck to go off the right side of the road and then the left side as the driver overcorrected. The truck overturned and struck the house in the 5100 block of Old Salem Road. A Montgomery County coroner was called.

The driver of the SUV is “fine,” Sergeant Patenaude said.

There is no one in the house and state police are working to contact the resident, he said.

Police and firefighters were dispatched around 6:39 p.m. after a truck crashed into a home, possibly causing one death.

A gas company crew called to the address because of a leak caused by the accident has shut off the supply.

A woman from a neighboring house was evacuated for her safety because of the leak. She was not injured, he said.

The damage to the house was significant, the sergeant said, pointing out that all the bricks on the east side had been torn off and the truck had pierced the building.

The investigation is ongoing.
