Donations to Send A Kid to Camp receive tax credit in Arizona

The Arizona Daily Star Sportsmen’s Fund raises money to enable children from low-income families and active military families to attend summer camps for free or at a low cost.

Since 1947, the Sportsmen’s Fund has helped 44,512 children defray the cost of camp. We are one of the oldest 501(c)(3) charities in Arizona and one of the most efficient: 97 cents of every dollar goes toward the cost of a child’s camp.

We send local children to week-long overnight camps run by the YMCA, the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, and to overnight camps at Camp Tatiyee for school-age children with special needs.

Our goal was to raise $225,000 and send at least 500 children to camp. So far we have received 1,023 donations totaling $196,347.25. We sent 505 local boys and girls to camp this summer at a cost of $264,920.

Your contribution to the Arizona Daily Star Sportsmen’s Fund Send a Kid to Camp Fund qualifies for the Arizona tax credit for donations to qualified charities. Our code is 20450. Joint filers can donate up to $938 for 2024 taxes. Single filers can donate up to $470 for 2024 taxes.
