MINT HILL, NC (WBTV) – Former President Donald Trump was back in the Mecklenburg district on Wednesday as he continued to campaign for votes in North Carolina.

Trump’s latest appearance in the Charlotte area comes just over a month before Election Day and in a state that is key to his bid to recapture the White House.

Wednesday’s visit to Mint Hill was at least the former president’s sixth visit to North Carolina since late July. In July, he held a rally at Bojangles Coliseum and addressed the National Fraternal Order of Police in Charlotte earlier this month. He also made stops in Asheville and Asheboro and held a rally in Wilmington just this past weekend.

Trump’s running mate JD Vance visited Charlotte on Monday.

Polls continue to show that Trump is in a close fight with Democratic candidate Kamala Harris for the state’s electoral votes. A new Elon University survey A poll released Tuesday showed Harris leading her Republican challenger by one point in the Tar Heel State.
