Former President Donald Trump responded to Taylor Swift’s support for Vice President Kamala Harris on Tuesday after the “Tortured Poets Department” singer endorsed the Democratic candidate.

Trump was asked about Swift’s statement in the spin room, an area where reporters can ask questions of the candidates and their surrogates after a debate. He replied, “I have no idea.”

Shortly after the presidential debate ended on Tuesday night, Swift posted a photo of herself with her cat Benjamin Button on Instagram, writing in the caption that she would be supporting Harris and Tim Walz. Swift also acknowledged that Trump used AI-generated images showing her supporting him, and said it made her realize she needed to come clean about her actual plans for the election. The pop star captioned the post, “Childless cat lady,” taking a swipe at JD Vance’s now-viral comments about people without children.

In her four-paragraph recommendation, Swift urged her 283 million followers to educate themselves and cast their votes before the fall election.

“Like many of you, I watched tonight’s debate. If you haven’t already, now is a good time to educate yourself on the issues at hand and these candidates’ stances on the issues that matter most to you,” Swift wrote. “As a voter, I make sure to watch and read everything I can find about their proposed policies and plans for this country.”

This is not Swift’s first time endorsing a political candidate. She endorsed President Joe Biden and Harris in 2020, and she supported U.S. Senate candidate Phil Bredesen and U.S. Rep. Jim Cooper in his re-election campaign in Tennessee’s 5th Congressional District in 2018.
