Donald Glover postpones Childish Gambino’s farewell tour to focus on ‘physical health’

Donald Glover has postponed the remaining North American dates of his final tour as his alter ego Childish Gambino to focus on his “physical health.”
The 40-year-old multi-title singer and actor, who has been on the road with his “The New World Tour” since early August, made the announcement on social media on Monday (September 9).
“Hey everyone. Unfortunately, I have to postpone the rest of the North American tour to focus on my physical health for a few weeks,” the “This is America” singer wrote on social media.
“Hold on to your tickets. ALL tickets for upcoming North American dates will remain valid if rescheduled. Thank you for the privacy. Thank you for the support. Thank you for the love.”
No further information was provided.
Glover’s decision comes nearly a month after he began the first leg of the tour in Oklahoma last month. He was scheduled to stop in several other major North American cities before heading to Europe, the UK, Australia and New Zealand.
The tour, his first in five years, was scheduled to end in Perth, Australia on February 11, 2025. It is intended to support his last two albums – Atavista And Bando Storm and the New World – released under his name Childish Gambino.
The five-time Grammy winner announced in April his plans to retire Childish Gambino after the release of his last two projects.
Atavista is a “finished” version of his surprise album from 2020 15.3.20 hrswhile Bando Storm and the New World serves as the soundtrack to an upcoming film of the same name.
Both were well received by critics. The IndependentLouis Chilton praises the latter in his four-star review as “as great as it is unwieldy.” diversity labeled Atavista “brilliant.”

Glover first gained international fame through his leading role as Troy Barnes in the successful sitcom Community from 2009 to 2014. He later created, starred in, and occasionally directed FX’s award-winning four-season drama. Atlanta.
In 2011 he signed a contract with Glassnote Records and released his debut album. Warehouseunder his nickname Childish Gambino. During his career as Childish Gambino he has released a total of five records. In 2013 he released his second album, Because the Internetand in 2014 he released his third album, Wake up, my love!.
He had previously released several mixtapes and EPs independently under the name mcDJ.
