“I’m not a big believer in uniting people,” Hill said. “I don’t believe in that kind of thing. I believe in bringing people together because that’s my purpose in life. I do football camps all over the world and try to bring different people together … because we’re all in this together, baby. We’re on this earth together. We’ve got to live together.”
“So when I say, ‘Let’s make a change,’ let’s do it together. So, Miami PD, really all the police officers around the world, one police officer doesn’t make the whole group look bad. Everybody has black sheep. Every team has black sheep. It’s my job to use my platform and my resources so that I can align with those different stations.
“We’ve tried everything. We’ve protested. We’ve even knelt down. We’ve walked. What’s next? My wife and I are thinking about how we can be part of this change. This is important to us. We want to change lives all over the world – not just in Miami.”

Hill said if he hadn’t been a famous athlete, history would have been different. He might have been shot or put in prison.
The bodycam footage was released Monday and shows the intense moments when Miami-Dade Hill police officers stopped him, removed him from his vehicle and handcuffed him as the situation escalated.
The Dolphins demanded punishment for the officers involved in the incident.
