“Do you just want to murder children in schools?”

  • According to a new biography, Larry David had harsh words against Elon Musk because he supports the Republican Party.

  • The creator of “Leave it, Larry!” asked Musk, “Do you just want to murder children in schools?”

  • David made these comments at a wedding that took place a few days after the Uvalde school shooting.

Comedian Larry David once confronted Elon Musk at a wedding about his support for the Republican Party and had some harsh words for the Tesla CEO.

The exchange was first described in detail in Walter Isaacson’s new biography of the billionaire.

Isaacson wrote that the “Curb Your Enthusiasm” creator seemed “pissed off” when he sat down with Musk at Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel’s wedding reception in May 2022.

“Do you just want to murder children in schools?” said David.

Isaacson wrote that Musk was “confused and angered” by the question and said he was “against infanticide.”

“Then how could you vote Republican?” David said. The comedian later told Isaacson that Musk’s negative posts about the Democratic Party on X, formerly known as Twitter, “got stuck in my throat.”

The wedding took place just days after the school massacre in Uvalde, Texas, in which 19 children and two teachers died.

“Even if Uvalde had never happened, I probably would have brought it up because I was angry and insulted,” David told Isaacson.

Representatives for David confirmed to Insider that he made the comments to Musk. Emanuel and Musk did not respond to a request for comment before publication.

The comedian’s jibe came after Musk said in a social media post in May 2022 that the Democratic Party “has become a party of division and hatred, so I can no longer support them and will vote Republican.”

Musk had told Tucker Carlson that he voted for Biden in the 2020 presidential election, but Isaacson said in the biography that Musk did not vote because he did not believe his vote would make a difference in California. Although Musk initially said he was excited for Biden to become president, his relationship with the president has soured over the years as the two men have repeatedly attacked each other.

Outside of his feud with Biden, Musk has expressed conservative views on Twitter, including by reposting conspiracy theories and transphobic content on X. Musk also helped Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announce his plans to run for president on X.

Meanwhile, David had expressed his support for the Democratic Party in the past and even clashed with former Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz in 2021 over his ties to former President Donald Trump, Page Six reported at the time.

David officiated Emanuel’s wedding, which took place in Saint-Tropez, Isaacson wrote. Musk and the talent agent — known for creating the character Ari Gold in the HBO series “Entourage” — have been friends since Emanuel bought a Tesla Roadster in 2008, Musk’s biography said.
