THQ Nordic has enhanced gameplay from Disney Mickey Epic: Re-Brushedwith nearly ten minutes of gameplay. The developer-narrated section follows the hero on an extended journey – both visually and mechanically. The video shows Mickey using his painting skills to bring color back to the world. To do this, he must not only wield the magic brush, but also face threats that have turned Wasteland into a gray and hostile environment.
Disney Mickey Epic: Re-Brushed will feature perspective shifts, switching between side-scrolling platforming style and 3D adventure. The animations combine hand-drawn designs with traditional CGI scenes. You can watch the full video below and get a closer look at the action, exploration and story:
Disney Mickey Epic: Re-Brushed is a remake of Epic Mickeyoriginally released for the Wii in 2010. The game sends Mickey Mouse on a journey through Wasteland, a realm of forgotten Disney characters. As Mickey, players delve into a fantastical world armed with paint and thinner, shaping their adventure and the fate of this alternate world. As they roam this world, players encounter various iconic characters such as Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, Walt Disney’s first creation, and others. Collect virtual Disney pins, take on creative challenges, and uncover secrets as you explore classic platforming levels inspired by movies and cartoons.
The original game was produced by Warren Spector, creator of titles such as the original System Shock and consultant on Underworld Ascendant. Spector returns to help Purple Lamp redesign Disney Mickey Epic: Re-Brushed. The remake features cutting-edge graphics, improved controls, and a reworked user interface to breathe new life into this beloved classic. Spector says his goal was always to create a timeless game, similar to Disney’s enduring works.
THQ Nordic has released a free demo of Disney Mickey Epic: Re-Brushed in the digital stores of Steam, Switch, PlayStation and Xbox. Everyone can check out the new adventure directly on their console before the upcoming release date.
