Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown had a quiet opening game of the 2024 season, finishing with just three catches for 17 yards in a win over the Los Angeles Rams.

St. Brown told the media this week that he doesn’t really care about production as long as the team wins.

“A win is the most important thing for us to get where we need to be, week in and week out,” St. Brown said. “Obviously you’d like to get catches and stuff, yards, but we found a way to win.”

But we all know St. Brown and his competitive spirit, so as the Lions prepare to face the Buccaneers for the third time in less than a calendar year, we know the fourth-year receiver is ready to deliver the kind of performance we’ve all become accustomed to.

So today’s question of the day is:

How many receiving yards will St. Brown have this week against the Buccaneers?

My answer: Let’s take a closer look at some statistics.

Last year, St. Brown averaged 94.7 yards per game, and in his two games against the Buccaneers last year, he was roughly that level. In the Week 6 game, St. Brown caught 12 balls for 124 yards and scored a touchdown. In the Divisional Round game, St. Brown caught eight balls for 77 yards and scored a touchdown.

Currently, FanDuel has St. Brown’s over/under set at 80 yards (-114) and 90 (+128) yards. I’ll take the over in both cases and say St. Brown finished with 105 yards against the Buccaneers.

This has less to do with Tampa Bay. Yes, their secondary is banged up, but the only starter they could actually be missing on Sunday is safety Antoine Winfield Jr. Granted, that’s a pretty big deal, but I’m not sure it will affect St. Brown’s performance. I’m more likely to think Jared Goff and St. Brown are finding the chemistry they oddly lacked last week.
