For the Detroit Lions, restoring their identity around putting the run first came at a price.

Lions center Frank Ragnow suffered a partial tear of his pectoral muscle during Sunday’s 20-13 win over the Arizona Cardinals, NFL Network reported Monday.

Ragnow, who played all 68 offensive snaps in this game, is out week to week due to his injury.

The Lions lost several key players to injuries on Sunday. Lions coach Dan Campbell said defensive end Marcus Davenport will likely miss the rest of the season after suffering a torn triceps, according to ESPN, and linebacker Derrick Barnes will be out “for a significant amount of time” with a knee injury.

Barnes was injured on a cut block and taken to the locker room with a towel over his head. Davenport was injured on a running play one play before the Lions stopped Kyler Murray on a running attempt on fourth-and-one.

The Lions are still getting opinions on both injuries, and Campbell said they won’t know if Barnes is a candidate to return from injured reserve until they talk to doctors.

WHAT HAPPENED: Police reports shed light on harassment that prompted Lions coach Dan Campbell to move

“It’s the knee. Does anything else need to be done besides one of the ligaments? Can those ligaments scar over and everything will be fine, it just takes time?” Campbell said. “We know he’s going to have to sit out for a while while the knee heals. And once it heals, will surgery be necessary?”

Safety Brian Branch also suffered a brain injury on Sunday and is in the concussion protocol. Offensive linemen Graham Glasgow and Dan Skipper, cornerback Terrion Arnold and defensive tackle Alim McNeil are among the others who left the field due to injuries. Campbell said the decision for all of those players will be made on a day-to-day basis.

Glasgow, who injured his arm in the first half, is the top candidate for the center position if Ragnow is out. The left guard position will likely be taken by Michael Niese or Kayode Awosika.

Glasgow started two games at center last season when Ragnow struggled with knee, ankle and toe injuries.

The Lions host the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football next week and have a bye week. Both Glasgow and Campbell said Sunday that the bye week comes at a welcome time.

“Nobody wants to have an early day off, but we’ve had some physical games here and after this Monday night game we’ll work hard, we’ll get ready, it’ll be nice,” Glasgow said.
