Detailed schedule for roadworks at the Las Vegas Grand Prix in interactive online map | Traffic

A new interactive online road construction map was introduced at the Las Vegas Grand Prix on Monday to allow drivers to plan their journeys in advance around possible race-related construction sites.

The website allows visitors to view the planned infrastructure work for each week leading up to, the week of the race and the weeks after, scheduled for November 21-23. The map is available on the Grand Prix website, f1lasvegasgp.com, by selecting the “Community” tab and then clicking on “Circuit Prep.”

Like last year, the race and related roadwork will take place on a 3.8-mile course consisting primarily of public roads. These roads include Las Vegas Boulevard, Koval Lane, and Harmon and Sands Avenues. This year’s race-related work is expected to be much less disruptive to motorists, as it will not require complete resurfacing of the entire course.

Having the full work plan broken down by week before the scheduled work begins will help residents and tourists know where and what traffic disruptions there might be when commuting through areas where race preparations are taking place.

There is a feature on the website that shows the difference between lane and road closures during the day and at night. This is useful as most of the work is scheduled to take place during the night hours.

For each week’s planned work schedule, site users can select different streets, bus stop locations and the type of work being carried out there. For users unfamiliar with navigating the interactive map, static versions of the planned roadworks are also available for online viewing or downloading.

Road work will begin the first week of September at the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Harmon with the installation of track lighting. The nighttime work on Harmon will result in one lane closure in each direction from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Friday, according to the interactive online map.

Work around the track is being carried out in an anti-clockwise direction to make it easier to monitor the impact on traffic as the teams move around the track.

After the set-up work and the road closures planned for race week, the teams will then begin dismantling the track, which will lead to corresponding traffic disruptions. According to the online map, the dismantling work is scheduled to last until December 24th.
