Demi Moore commented on the health of her ex-husband Bruce Willis and said that he is “doing well”.
The star of the upcoming body horror film The substance appeared on September 13 in an episode of The Drew Barrymore Showand the two talked about their previous work on 2003s Charlie’s Angels – Full Throttlein which Willis has a cameo role.
Moore, married to the Die Hard Actor from 1987 to 2000, said: “Under the circumstances, he is in a stable position.”
She continued, “I tell my kids that you have to meet them where they are. You don’t hold on to who they were or what you want them to be, but who they are in this moment.” Moore and Willis have children together: Rumer Willis, Scout Willis and Tallulah Willis.
“And there’s so much beauty and joy and love and sweetness that comes from that,” Moore explained. “When I’m in LA, I drive over every week and I really cherish the time that we all spend together.”
In 2022, it was announced that the veteran actor, now 69, would end his acting career after being diagnosed with aphasia, a disease that affects the way people communicate. A year later, the family issued a statement explaining that the disease had progressed to frontotemporal dementia, the most common form of dementia for which there is no treatment.
“Unfortunately, communication problems are just one symptom of the illness Bruce is facing,” the statement said. “Although painful, it is a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis.”
In an update from earlier this year, Willis’ wife Emma Heming Willis condemned misleading headlines and clickbait regarding his health condition. “I want society and whoever is writing these stupid headlines to stop scaring people. Stop scaring people by making them think that once they get a diagnosis of neurocognitive disorder, they’re like, ‘That’s it. It’s over. Let’s pack up. There’s nothing left to see here, we’re done.’ No. It’s the exact opposite of that, OK?”
Last year Tallulah also appeared on The Drew Barrymore Showand said of her father: “He’s the same way, and I think in that respect I’ve learned that that’s the best thing you can ask for. I see love when I’m with him. And he’s my father and he loves me, which is really special.”
