Demi Moore, Amy Adams and Natasha Lyonne Among New Honorees (Exclusive)

They might as well host the Oscars in Savannah later this month instead of early next year in Hollywood, since virtually all of this awards season’s serious contenders will soon be heading south for the SCAD Savannah Film Festival, which will take place on October 26th. Nov 2.

Just days after the festival announced special honors Annette Bening (life’s work), Jerry Bruckheimer (Young woman and the sea), Kieran Culkin (A real pain), Colman Domingo (Singing Singing), Karla Sofia Gascon (Emilia Perez), Jharrel Jerome (Unstoppable), Richard Linklater (killer), Mikey Madison (Anora), Isabela Merced (Alien: Romulus), Steve McQueen (flash), Lupita Nyong’o (The wild robot) And Daisy Ridley (Young woman and the sea And magpie), The Hollywood Reporter learned that 10 more Big names will travel south to attend performances and pick up statuettes.

These include three candidates for Best Actress: Demi Moore receives the Icon Award at a screening of The substance; Amy Adams will receive that Award for outstanding achievement in cinema at a screening of Night slut; And Marisa Abela will receive that Next Gen Award at a screening of Back to black.

Three candidates for Best Supporting Actress will also be present: Felicity Jones receives the Spotlight Award at a screening of The brutalist; Natasha Lyonne receives the Maverick Award at a screening of His three daughters; And Margaret Qualley receives the Luminary Award at a screening of The substance.

A trio of screenwriters and directors are also celebrated: Pablo Larrain will receive the author’s award at the final screening of Mary; Jason Reitman will receive the Vanguard Director Award at a screening of Saturday evening; And RaMell Ross will receive the Breakthrough Director Award at a screening of Nickel Boys.

And the actor-director-producer Diego Luna will be presented with the Impact Award at a screening of the documentary State of silencewhich he served as executive producer together with Gael García Bernal, his partner in the production company La Corriente del Golfo.

And that’s all in addition to a flood of top documentarians who will be in town for the 11th annual Docs to Watch panel on October 30.
