Delta Airlines kicks passenger off plane because of Trump T-shirt with “Hawk Tuah” inscription

A passenger was removed from a Delta Airlines flight for wearing a T-shirt featuring former US President Donald Trump flipping the bird and containing a reference to the “Hawk Tuah” girl video, according to a report by New York Post.

The incident occurred Saturday morning at Sarasota Bradenton International Airport.

The male passenger was wearing a black T-shirt with a picture of Donald Trump wearing sunglasses in the colors of the American flag and holding up two middle fingers.

“Hawk tuah spit on that thing,” says the T-shirt, alluding to the R-rated video.

“I’m getting kicked out because of my shirt,” the man said as he walked down the aisle with his luggage, the report said, citing a post in the Reddit group r/delta.

“And this is her report – stupid Wendy,” he added after reading the name tag of the female flight attendant who escorted him away.

According to the report, before boarding the Delta flight, the passenger was asked by an airline employee to change his T-shirt or be denied boarding the plane after someone complained about it.

Then he turned the T-shirt over and all the passengers boarded the plane.

“The next thing I remember is that just before takeoff, a Delta employee comes onto the plane and escorts him off the plane. He had turned his shirt back to the sticker side,” the report quotes the Reddit post as saying.

Airlines may remove passengers from their flights if deemed necessary.

“at Delta’s sole discretion, for the comfort or safety of the passenger, the comfort or safety of other passengers or Delta employees, or to prevent damage to property of Delta or its passengers or employees,” states Delta Airlines’ contract of carriage.

A passenger may be removed from the aircraft if his or her “behavior, dress, hygiene or odor presents an unreasonable risk of offence or nuisance to other passengers” (among other behaviors and circumstances).
