Viva Aerobus expands nonstop options from San Antonio International Airport

SAN ANTONIO (August 9, 2024) Beginning in early November, Delta Air Lines will offer nonstop service from San Antonio International Airport (SAT) to Boston Logan International Airport (BOS). Delta announced the news today, saying Boston is an important market for the San Antonio community.

“Delta’s timely decision to serve this route demonstrates the strong demand between San Antonio and Boston and that it justifies nonstop service on an established carrier,” said Mayor Ron Nirenberg. “SAT continues to gain momentum. And we are pleased to see Delta continue to expand its presence here.”

Here’s what you should know about the new flights:

  • Start of service is on 11 November 2024
  • Frequency: Once daily, all year round
  • Departure BOS for Saturday at 9:15 am
  • Departure Saturday at 2pm to BOS

“This is fantastic news for San Antonio residents, especially our business travelers in the life sciences, technology and finance sectors,” said Jesus Saenz, director of airports for the City of San Antonio Aviation Authority. “Delta’s performance at SAT was remarkable. The airline saw an astonishing 20% increase in total departing seats compared to pre-pandemic times, and Boston is its seventh destination from San Antonio. We are pleased to see Delta continue to grow in San Antonio and look forward to continuing our strong partnership.”

The airline’s other destinations from SAT include Atlanta, Detroit, Los Angeles, Minneapolis-St. Paul, New York-JFK and Salt Lake City.

Delta Air Lines issued this statement:

“The addition of Boston-San Antonio to the Delta network will provide the only nonstop consumer access between these two cities beginning in November. In addition, this service will increase Delta’s coverage of the top 50 markets from our Boston hub and help extend Delta’s No. 1 position there.”

Ticket sales begin tomorrow on Delta’s website.
