Dayton Holiday Festival seeks tree for 2024

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Do you have a tree on your property that would be a beautiful focal point for everyone?

The Downtown Dayton Partnership is looking for the centerpiece tree for the city’s big lights celebration on November 29th.

According to DDP, organizers are looking for a full-sized tree with few bare spots and a height of about 40 to 50 feet. Although the festival prefers a Colorado or blue spruce, other large and stately evergreen trees could be suitable.

If your tree is selected, teams will come to your property and remove the tree themselves. You will be recognized during the festival.

“Workers will cut down the selected tree, remove the stump and transport the tree to Courthouse Square at no charge,” DDP said. “The owners of the tree will also be honored during the official tree lighting ceremony.”

Your tree must be either in your front yard or near power lines or cables.

To nominate your tree, call 937-224-1518 or email. The selected tree will be chosen by the end of October.
