Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has had a child “out of wedlock” and is struggling to “regain” the trust of his wife Jordyn Blum and his other children.
The rock legend made this stunning revelation in an Instagram post on Tuesday, September 10.
“I recently became the father of a baby girl, born outside of my marriage,” Grohl wrote in a statement.
“I plan to be a loving and supportive father to her. I love my wife and children and am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.”
He added: “We are grateful for your consideration for all the children affected as we move forward together.”
A spokesperson for Grohl told the Post that there was no further comment from the musician at this time.
The 55-year-old former Nirvana drummer married Blum, 48, in a ceremony held at the couple’s LA home on August 2, 2003. The guest list included A-list celebrities such as Clive David and Grohl’s former Nirvana bandmate Krist Novoselic.
The marriage was Blum’s first and Grohl’s second. The star was married to photographer Jennifer Youngblood. They divorced in 1997.
Grohl and Blum had their first child, a daughter, Violet Maye, 18, in 2006. The couple have two more daughters, Harper Willow, 15, who was born in 2009, and Ophelia Saint, 10, in 2014.
The rocker and his wife were spotted at Wimbledon in July, where they sat in the Royal Box alongside other celebrities including David Beckham.
The family, who rarely appear together in public as a complete unit, appeared together at the 2023 Grammys and posed on the red carpet.
Blum, a former model and MTV producer, has kept her marriage to Grohl private over the years.
The rock star, for his part, has repeatedly emphasized over the years how much his wife means to him.
“Jordyn and Violet are anchors that keep me from completely disappearing,” Grohl told the Guardian in 2007.
This is a developing story…
