Dave Grohl once again speaks honestly about his infidelity.
The Foo Fighters lead singer and guitarist announced that he recently welcomed a baby girl, but not with his wife Jordyn Blum. In a statement shared on Instagram, he revealed that his youngest child was “born outside of my marriage.”
“I plan to be a loving, supportive father to her,” Grohl said in his letter Tuesday, which did not reveal further details about the birth of his newborn daughter or her mother.
Grohl assured his fans on Instagram: “I love my wife and my children” and he “am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.” Blum and Grohl married in 2003. They have three children together.
Tuesday’s post was not the first time the Grammy winner came clean and admitted to an extramarital affair.
In a 2007 interview with the Guardian, the rocker, now 55, admitted that his infidelity led to his divorce from his first wife, Jennifer Youngblood, in 1997. They were married for three years. The British media also reported that the divorce between Grohl and Youngblood was a factor in guitarist Pat Smear’s decision to leave the Foo Fighters. Smear and Youngblood had been close friends, but Smear eventually reconciled with Grohl and rejoined the band.
At the end of his statement, Grohl told his 1.4 million Instagram followers that he wanted to resolve the matter with everyone involved.
“We are grateful for your consideration for all the children affected as we move forward together,” he said.
