Dave Coulier on seeing the Olsen twins again at Bob Saget’s funeral

Dave Coulier still appreciates Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, even though the siblings have distanced themselves from “Full House.”

In an exclusive interview with The Post, 64-year-old Coulier revealed that he had not had any contact with the famous twins after they decided not to return to the Netflix series “Fuller House.”

However, he reunited with the twins in January 2022 at the funeral of their late co-star Bob Saget.

“When we saw them at Bob’s funeral and memorial service, it was just wonderful,” Coulier said. “That’s the only word I can think of. It was wonderful to see Mary-Kate and Ashley.”

The 38-year-old Olsen twins did not reprise their role together as Michelle Tanner in the “Full House” reboot. They retired from acting and founded fashion brands The Row in 2006 and Elizabeth and James in 2007.

But they made sure to spend time with the cast, including Coulier, when her TV father Saget passed away at age 65.

Coulier described his reunion with the twins: “I have a picture somewhere where John Stamos has Dumbo from Disneyland in his house, and it’s from the ride. So I went and sat there and started playing around, and suddenly Mary-Kate came over and sat next to me, and then suddenly Ashley sat next to me.”

“The three of us were just in there laughing and playing kids,” added Coulier. “It was wonderful.”

Coulier will appear at 90s Con in Florida this weekend along with other former “Full House” stars Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin.

Not surprisingly, the Olsen twins will not be there. They continue to keep their distance from their “Full House” family – a decision that Coulier understands and respects.

“I don’t know how much I felt connected to people when I was 8 months old,” he said of the sisters. “I think they have a different perspective. And they have a different look back at the show than we do.”

“I mean, they were still in diapers,” he noted. “They have a different perspective on everything that happened back then. And we understand that and we love them very much.”

Coulier also said he was proud of how far Mary-Kate and Ashley have come since they met as babies.

“They’ve had quite a journey and I respect their journey. Being a child actor at such a young age is a really difficult life for a child,” he said. “And we’ve seen it firsthand.”

Coulier continued, “All of our kids have had their ups and downs. But we’re really proud of them. When you get through it all and come out of it all and they’re OK, it’s really beautiful.”

Mary-Kate married French banker Olivier Sarkozy in 2012. They divorced in 2021.

Ashley, for her part, married artist Louis Eisner in December 2022. Their son Otto was born last year.
