As the MCU-to-DCU pipeline picks up speed, Dave Bautista may be in for a change of scenery.
After reuniting with Pom Klementieff for his new film The murderer’s gamePremiering on September 13th via Lionsgate, the actor spoke about the possibility of sharing the screen with the rest of their Guardians of the Galaxy are co-stars again.
“I hope so, yes. That’s kind of my goal,” he told ComicBook.com. “I really want it, because I have another project outside of Guardian with Karen Gillan, and I’ve now worked with Pom. I’d also love to work with Chris (Pratt) and Zoe (Saldana) outside of the Marvel Universe.”
Previously, he played Drax the Destroyer in all three films directed by James Gunn. Guardians of the Galaxy films as well as several other MCU titles.
Bautista said he would “of course” consider joining the DCU after Gunn takes over as DC Studios co-head with Peter Safran in 2022. “Like I said, and I’ve been very open to it. I think it just has to be the right role. But I’m very open to it, and I love James and would do anything to work with him,” he said.
Gunn had previously indicated that some GOTG graduates could join the DCU after speculation arose about Pratt and Klementieff appearing in upcoming films. “If you had the chance to play one of the GOTG “Which stars in the DC Universe would you cast as her?” asked one fan on Threads, to which Gunn replied, “That would be a spoiler, right?”

Meanwhile, James’ brother Sean Gunn, who is an actor, joins the DCU as villain Maxwell Lord after portraying Kraglin Obfonteri in the GOTG Movies.
In July, director Gunn celebrated the completion of filming on Instagram Superman: Legacywhich will premiere on July 11, 2025, ushering in the new DCU.
